Walsworth Doubles Fundraising Goal for 2025 Run for Justice
Walsworth proudly participated in the 2025 Run for Justice, an annual fundraising event benefiting Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono public interest law firm. Held at Dodger Stadium on March 15, the event brought together legal professionals and community members in support of Public Counsel’s mission to provide free legal services to individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations in need.
This year, Team Walsworth set an initial fundraising goal of $2,250 but exceeded expectations, raising $5,205—more than double the original target. The firm is grateful to the many donors whose generosity helped us surpass our goal.
“Run for Justice has become an annual Walsworth tradition,” said Partner Sadaf Nejat. She and Partner Soniya Khemlani serve as members of Public Counsel’s Leadership Council. “We are truly honored to support Public Counsel’s vital mission. Giving back to our community in such a meaningful way is something we deeply value.”
A dedicated group of Walsworth team members participated in the 5K, including Sadaf, Soniya, Jeanne Tollison, Laurie Sherwood, Patricia Teunisse, Angela Martin, Karen Porter, Penny Gutierrez, Sonia Gonzalez, Lissa Maldonado, Courtney Counts, Alicia Ashworth, Allison Johnson, Mary MacDonald, and Hope Pham. Their commitment to both the event and the cause resonates with the firm’s dedication to community service.
While Walsworth is proud of its fundraising success, there is still time to contribute. As of this post, Public Counsel has raised more than $107,000 toward its $160,000 goal, and donations are still being accepted to help close the gap.
