Matt Hong

Matt Hong is an associate in Walsworth’s San Diego office who focuses his practice on asbestos and toxic tort matters. He approaches litigation with determination, empathy, and integrity, working closely with clients to build trust and develop practical solutions to complex legal challenges. Matt enjoys the analytical side of litigation, particularly case strategy and legal writing, and takes pride in crafting persuasive arguments grounded in careful research and thoughtful analysis.

Matt finds the most rewarding aspect of his work to be earning his clients’ trust and helping them feel supported throughout the litigation process. From an early age, people in his community encouraged him to use his strengths to help others and pursue a career in law. Their guidance and confidence in him left a lasting impression and continue to influence the dedication and client-centered approach he brings to his practice today. Clients appreciate his ability to communicate clearly, remain steady under pressure, and translate complex issues into practical guidance, helping them make informed decisions throughout the litigation process.

Deeply connected to the San Diego community, Matt serves as a director and in-house counsel for Southern Sea Dragon and Lion Dance and regularly performs at cultural events throughout the region. Outside the office, he enjoys cooking, studying art from different cultures, and cheering on the Padres.
