Barbara Adams

Barbara Adams is a partner in Walsworth’s San Francisco office who focuses her practice on asbestos, toxic tort, and Proposition 65 matters, representing companies of all sizes and claims involving consumer goods and foods. For more than four decades, she has represented manufacturers, retailers, contractors, and businesses in complex, high-exposure litigation. Her extensive trial experience and deep understanding of jury dynamics allow her to develop effective strategies and advocate successfully for clients facing significant potential liabilities.

Barbara began trying cases in 1985 and, by the end of the following year, had already taken 10 cases to verdict. Since then, she has selected juries in hundreds of cases and tried approximately 50 matters to verdict. She has always enjoyed the challenge of developing persuasive arguments and testing ideas – she relishes the opportunity to educate juries and judges on novel issues. Her analytical approach to science, research, and technical issues naturally led her to toxic tort litigation, where she enjoys digging into complex evidence and using it to challenge opposing experts. She approaches every matter with honesty, determination, and an unwavering commitment to her clients’ interests. Her appreciation for psychology also informs her approach to jury selection, helping her evaluate perspectives and identify jurors who can fairly assess the evidence presented at trial.

Outside the office, Barbara enjoys practicing agility with her dog, photography and cooking, particularly making jams, jellies, salsa, and baked goods.
