Walsworth Partners Volunteer for Tourism Cares for Oakland

Travel Law Walsworth partner, Laurie Sherwood, will participate at the event, Tourism Cares for Oakland, on March 23-24. In this event, tourism industry professionals volunteer with local partners to fulfill Oakland’s most pressing needs by helping to revive iconic public spaces or enhance the accessibility of recreational facilities and amenities.

At Children’s Fairyland, Oakland’s Storybook Theme Park, volunteers will be working to enhance the animal exhibits, build storage sheds and greenhouses, and help with general cleaning and painting projects. At Oakland’s Lake Merritt, city staff will direct volunteers to help with large scale plantings and landscape projects. Finally, at Oakland’s City Mural, a small group of volunteers will play paint by numbers and work with a local artist to add more art to the city streets.
