Walsworth Partner Soniya Khemlani will be a speaker on the panel, “Pivoting from Today to Tomorrow: The Transitioning Roles of In-House Counsel and Outside Counsel” at the event held by Minority In-House Counsel Association (MIHCA) in connection with the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) on June 6 at the City National Plaza in Los Angeles, CA.
The session will address the new changes attorneys are facing in the legal industry today. The panelists will discuss the best methods to address these changes and adapt them in the transitioning roles of in-house counsel and outside counsel.
Soniya will be joined by a group of leaders in the industry including:
Sonya Makunga, Real Estate Counsel at Warner Bros; Jerry Ruiz, Shareholder at AlvaradoSmith; Mark Tarango, Managing Counsel at Toyota Financial Services; and Merle Vaughn, National Law Firm Diversity Practice Leader and Partner Recruiter at Major, Lindsey & Africa.
The agenda for this event also includes a panel on “Bias Busting: At Work, in the Courtroom, and Every Day,” where speakers will explore the effects of implicit bias in an interactive CLE session. Panelists include Rob Chestnut, General Counsel at Airbnb; Allen Lo, Patent Counsel at Google, Inc.; the Hon. Carlos R. Moreno, retired judge of the California Supreme Court; Raul F. Salinas, L.A. Managing Shareholder of AlvaradoSmith; and Robin Wofford, Partner at Wilson, Turner & Kosmo. Following both panel sessions is a networking reception in the evening.
