Walsworth would like to congratulate partners Soniya Khemlani and Kendra Bray, and senior associate Shahirah Ruddell for being named to Super Lawyers’ 2022 California Rising Stars list. Attorneys who are selected undergo a multiphase selection process that includes peer nominations and evaluations, and independent research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators, and selections are made annually on a state-by-state basis. Attorneys selected for Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list must be 40 years old or younger or have been in practice for ten years or less. While up to 5 percent of the attorneys in a state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
Soniya’s practice focuses on representing local and national clients in various civil litigation matters involving product liability, premises liability, and general liability. In addition, she is the chair of Walsworth’s diversity equity and inclusion committee and is responsible for spearheading the firm’s DEI initiatives, including recruiting, community engagement, and employee development.
Kendra represents a wide range of clients including insurance companies, product manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, contractors and premises owners in matters involving insurance bad faith defense, general liability, and asbestos litigation. She also leads the firm’s largest practice group, which is focused on general liability matters.
Shahirah’s practice focuses on construction and employment law. She handles all aspects of pretrial litigation including managing case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, law and motion, mediations and arbitrations, participating in settlement negotiations, and working closely with lead trial counsel to prepare cases for trial.
