Our employment group is seeking a highly experienced and motivated senior attorney (10+ years) who is licensed and resides in California. The salary will start at $225,000+, depending upon experience level, with significant bonus opportunities (Walsworth is not a lock-step firm, and the actual salary a candidate receives is dependent on a variety of factors). - Representation of employers in litigation including wage and hour class actions, PAGA actions, discrimination claims, and wrongful discharge cases.
- Management of cases from inception through resolution, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, motions, and trial.
- Representation of clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution forums.
- Drafting and review of employment contracts, handbooks, and personnel policies.
- Counseling clients on compliance with wage and hour regulations, OSHA requirements, and employee leave policies.
- Providing strategic advice on labor issues related to layoffs, mergers, acquisitions, and business closures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be admitted to the State Bar of California and reside in California.
- Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- 10+ years of legal experience, with a minimum of 5 years in labor and employment law and/or class action work.
- First chair trial experience, with a minimum of 3-5 matters to verdict or near verdict.
- Strong litigation background with experience handling wage and hour disputes, discrimination cases, and class actions.
- Ability to make in-person appearances on cases when needed.
- Demonstrated experience in managing legal teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing junior staff.
